Funeral Home Reviews
Medina, New York
On behalf of 8 daughters and a mother, we want to thank Coopers and Jake Hebdon for the wonderful, very professional services provided. Jake came to the house and picked up my father. From the minute he walked in the door he made my 80 year old very comfortable. We told her he was "Jake from State Farm", she knew that commercial well. Then I found out that I actually worked with his mother and had known all about his career change and adventures in his new career. From that point on he dealt very well addressing questions and answers to my mother instead of all the girls. He answered her questions in a way she understood. She was able to make her own decision with as much time as she needed. She chose cremation but, did not want the ashes at the service. He took our special pictures to the floral shop so flowers could be arranged around them. He also contacted the Veterans associations and set up the arrangements for the military service. He even took some calls throughout the couple days with last minute questions we each had. I am disabled and can not walk or stand for only a few minutes at a time. Cooper's have an elevator which makes it very convenient for anyone with ambulation difficulties. I was able to use a cane instead of a walker or wheelchair because of the elevator convenience. The room was large and our party fit in there nicely. We felt all together. Some funeral homes have 2 small rooms and the people in the back feel separated and blocked off. In those visual ability is poor as well as hearing what people are saying. We were told by a person in attendance that this was the best funeral they have attended. I agree, my 2 brother in laws were allowed to perform the service. The floral shop owner is a long time friend of my parents. Like I said, we appreciate everything they did to make this day easier for us and they succeeded. I would recommend Cooper's Funeral Home to anyone.

My mom recently reposed at your Whitestone facility. Your personell showed kindness and attention to details and this was most appreciated. However, we feel that this home is in need of updating, cleaning and painting. Thank you for the opportunity to express my concerns

Schenectady, New York
I am from Florida and my mother passed away in Schenectady, New York. Being from out of state, I was very concerned about who would take care of my mother's remains. I had very little time because I didn't want her in the morgue. I searched and visited many funeral homes in the area and couldn't find what I was looking for, a God based place. I felt that all that I visited were just a business and wasn't sure that my mother would be treated with the respect that she deserved. Finally, God sent me to De Legge Funeral Home. When I rang the door bell a nun answered the door, which I was later told was not the norm. With a warm touch, she held my hand and asked me to come in. I felt that my prayers were answered. Then I met with Mark Laszczynski, who has such a gentle way and understanding of the grief process for the loved ones left behind. He assisted me with the financial aspects and made it very easy. After talking to him about how I would like things done, he immediately left to pick up my mother so that she wasn't left any longer at the hospital. They placed her under a large cross, at the feet of Jesus, with her head resting on a silk pillow. There was to be no viewing and her remains were to be cremated. This is just the way that they treat loved ones. I am so happy and relieved that I found them. They are very respectful and professional. I felt at peace and I'm sure that my mother did too.

Buffalo, New York
MY MOTHER, THE LATE FANNIE DIXON'S BODY WAS PREPARED AT THE ALFRED LEWIS MORTUARY, 968 JEFFERSON AVENUE, BUFFALO, NY. I DELIVERED THE OBITUARY TO MRS. SMITH ON 1/2/13 FOR THE NEWS RELEASE. THERE WAS NO OBITUARY SENT TO THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER, THE BUFFALO NEWS. THEY DID NOT AFFORD THE FAMILY THE CUSTOMARY PRE-REVIEW OF HER BODY BEFORE THE WAKE AND FUNERAL ON 1/4/13. UPON THE FAMILY'S ARRIVAL FOR THE WAKE AND SERVICE WE WERE ALL SHOCKED TO SEE THAT SHE BORE NO RESEMBLANCE TO HERSELF AT ALL. HER FACE PROTRUDED WITH AN OVER ABUNDANCE OF PACKING, THE RUBY RED LIPSTICK THEY HAD ON HER WAS ABNORMAL AND WE ARE STILL IN A STATE OF SHOCK AND ANGER OVER THIS. THE LAST LOOK WE HAD OF HER REMAINS WILL BE A VISION THAT WE WILL NOT AND CANNOT FORGET. ALL WHO ATTENDED HER SERVICE WERE ALARMED BY HOW THEY MADE MY MOTHER LOOK LIKE AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT PERSON. WE WILL BE HAUNTED BY THIS SHOCKING MEMORY FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES. WE CANNOT GET THIS HIDEOUS VISION OF OUR MOTHER OUT OF OUR MINDS!!! PLEASE RESPOND TO 10 ELTON PLACE, BUFFALO, NY 14208. NO EMAILS PLEASE!
